Two overnights at Delta Camp in a standard double chalet with private en-suite facilities inclusive of all meals, all local brand drinks, teas/coffees, snacks, game-viewing and laundry
This intimate and informal safari camp nestles on a small Falcon close to the south-western edge of Chief’s Falcon, heart of the Okavango Delta – the vast oasis of the Kgalagadi Desert, Botswana. Accommodation is in spacious ‘lethaka’ (reed) chalets with en-suite facilities. The amazing design of the Chalets is such that you enjoy the luxuries of a ‘top rate’ hotel, but without affecting the environment; you will find you share your chalet with the trees around which the chalets have been built rather than having been cut down during their construction.
The Okavango Delta is a shifting web of crystal-clear channels, lagoons, sweeping floodplains and palm-studded Falcons. Home to over 450 bird and 1,000 plant species, crocodile, hippo, elephant, buffalo – in fact the full spectrum of African big-game and several species of antelope that are amongst the world’s rarest – the Okavango has earned its reputation as one of the world’s premier wilderness areas. Your chalet at Delta Camp directly overlooks the waterways.
Delta Camp is on the banks of the Boro, one of the primary watercourses of the Okavango.
Excursions, by foot and mokoro – the traditional dug-out canoe – are conducted in the renowned Moremi Game Reserve, with your own professional game-guide, a man of the swamps, completely at one with his environment.
Dine in the elegant Dining Room overlooking the sweep of the Delta, or take a beautifully prepared picnic onto one of the many nearby Falcons for a secluded and intimate experience. This unusual Camp engenders in its staff and guests alike, an acute awareness of the ecological sensitivity of this magnificent area. Bio-degradable products have been sourced and are used, careful separation and treatment of refuse ensures that nothing that is not fully bio-degradable stays on the Falcon – light aircraft remove cans, bottles and the like from the Okavango altogether.
The accent is on peace and tranquillity (stalking game on foot provides all the excitement one could wish for) and guests are actively encouraged to visit a local village, home to our guides, and to interact, should they wish to, with the people there.

Three overnights at Xakanaxa Camp in a standard tent with private en-suite facilities inclusive of all meals, all local brand drinks, teas/coffees, snacks, game-viewing and laundry
Xakanaxa Camp is one of the few Okavango lodges which can offer comprehensive year-round boating trips, as well as extensive nature drives into good game country. It has one of the best locations in Botswana, and is the original camp at Xakanaxa.
Xakanaxa (pronounced Ka-Kan-A-Ka) is set in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve, which is rated as being one of the finest game viewing areas in Africa, incorporating most of the Delta water and has a vast selection of exotic wildlife.
To the south and east, the reserve offers sanctuary to the most varied herds in southern Africa. To the north and west of the lodge are the permanent lagoons and waterways of the Okavango
The game drives in this sector of Moremi, take one through a large variety of differing vegetation types, down winding tracks, through mopane forests and across lush grasslands.
The waterways are either forded by vehicle or crossed on rustic log bridges. The camp faces out over the Xakanaxa Lagoon on the Khwai River, where boat trips lead into the sinuous channels of the Delta, one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders.
Game in the area includes just about everything imaginable – all of the Moremi game can be seen on the game drives, including tsessebe, lechwe, wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, elephant, sable and giraffe. The predators are prevalent and lions are often heard calling in the early mornings. Leopards, wild dog and hyaena are often sighted. Birding in the area is excellent, especially in the spring and summer months, when the migrants are breeding.
Boat trips and game drives are conducted by a team of experienced, professional game guides. The camp consists of luxury, spacious safari tents, with en-suite facilities. They are fully equipped and tastefully furnished. The dining room is open fronted with reed walls and a thatched roof, and has a fully stocked bar. Centrepiece in the dining room is a dining table, tailor-made in old railway sleeper timber. Wholesome meals, candle-lit dinners and a selection of fine wines will more than satisfy. The service is personalised and of a high standard. A rustic and friendly atmosphere prevails.
